Questions
Resident Special FAQ
When exactly does billing start?
Billing begins on the later of two dates: 6 months after your enrollment date, or the date of your first attending paycheck. If your first attending paycheck comes before 6 months, billing begins then. If residency lasts longer than 6 months, billing begins after 6 months regardless.
What services am I getting during the deferred period?
Full service from day one — entity formation, S-Corp election, EIN acquisition, governance documents, QuickBooks and Gusto setup, and any applicable compliance work. If you have moonlighting or 1099 income during residency, we manage that too.
What if my residency is extended or I take a fellowship?
Contact us and we'll work with you. The spirit of the offer is to support physicians who are still in training — we handle these situations on a case-by-case basis.
Do I need to already have 1099 income to enroll?
No. You can enroll now and have everything set up and ready for when you begin earning attending or 1099 income. We'll establish the entity structure so it's ready the moment you need it.
Is the 12-month commitment required?
Yes — the 12-month commitment begins when billing starts (after your deferred period). This allows us to provide full onboarding, tax filing, and year-round services without interruption.
